Queensland Country Bank is proud to announce the extension of our naming rights sponsorship at Queensland Country Bank Stadium for a further four years, securing a decade-long partnership with Stadiums Queensland.
Now entering the final year of our initial six-year term, we are thrilled to continue supporting world-class sporting and entertainment events in North Queensland until December 31, 2029.
A Partnership Built for North Queensland
When we first began discussions about the stadium in 2019, we knew it would be home to the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys National Rugby League team, but the future of other major events was uncertain. Despite this, we recognised that the stadium would be a crucial piece of social infrastructure, enhancing both the liveability and economic growth of the region. As a member-owned bank, our commitment to giving back to the community made the decision to partner with Stadiums Queensland an easy one.
Since opening in 2020, Queensland Country Bank Stadium has exceeded all expectations, attracting 1.25 million attendees across a host of major events, including performances from global superstars such as Elton John, P!nk, and The Killers, as well as major sporting events like the men’s and women’s State of Origin and the Rugby World Cup.
Growing with Our Community
The timing of our Naming Rights Partnership aligned with our transition from a credit union to a member-owned bank, and there is no doubt that Queensland Country Bank Stadium has played a role in our growth as a bank of choice for Queenslanders. In the past five years, we have grown our asset base by 40%, expanded our membership, and continued to invest in the communities we serve through sponsorships, grants, and face-to-face banking services at our 28 branches across Queensland.
Looking to the Future
Queensland Country Bank Stadium continues to be a key driver of activity in Townsville and beyond. With the upcoming North Queensland Cowboys NRL season, the Wallabies v Argentina rugby union game, Nitro Circus, and the Rugby World Cup 2027 already confirmed, the stadium is set to continue its role as a premier destination for sport and entertainment.
We are incredibly proud to extend our partnership with Stadiums Queensland and look forward to supporting the growth and success of Queensland Country Bank Stadium over the next four years.
