Through our Good for Good Community Grants Program, we're proud to contribute to initiatives that enrich the lives of those in regional Queensland. From improving local infrastructure to fostering creative programs such as Outback at Isa's mural project, this program directly supports grassroots efforts that benefit the lives of our Members and regional community members alike.

The Vision of the Outback at Isa Mural

Awarded a $5,000 Queensland Country Bank Community Grant, Outback at Isa is now embarking on a creative project that will showcase Mount Isa's vibrant culture. The grant funds are being used to transform the café at the Outback at Isa Centre with a stunning new mural.

Led by renowned Indigenous artist Barbara Sam, this project is designed to bring colour and cultural connection to an iconic community hub. The mural isn’t just a celebration of art but a platform for passing on tradition and storytelling to younger generations.

Barbara Sam, a respected leader in the arts community, is involving two local youths in the project, sharing her wealth of experience and passing on skills that will resonate far beyond the mural’s completion.

Sharing the Moment

To commemorate the start of this important initiative, local Queensland Country Bank staff, the Outback at Isa team, and local councillor Travis Crowther came together with Barbara Sam to celebrate the mural's launch. The event reinforced the strong bond between Queensland Country Bank and the Mount Isa community. By supporting both local talent and youth, this project is a wonderful example of the positive change that can come from working together.
