The Brisbane Heat have hit it out of the park today, celebrating news that Queensland Country Bank has become the club’s new Principal Partner for the next three years.
Queensland Cricket (QC) and the Heat made the announcement at Allan Border Field with the partnership set to strengthen Queensland Country Bank’s presence in South-East Queensland and allow QC to continue investing in community and grassroots cricket.
Queensland Country Bank will feature on the front and back of the playing and training shirts for the Heat teams in the Weber Women’s Big Bash League and KFC Big Bash League for the next three seasons, and also has major signage and activation rights at all Heat home games.
Cricket fans are the big winners too, with Queensland Country Bank launching a high-profile consumer competition which links six-hitting from Heat W/BBL players to a significant cash giveaway for Brisbane Heat fans.
Today’s partnership announcement coincided with confirmation that international batter Colin Munro had accepted a two-year contract with the Heat that will see the New Zealander left-hander extend his ties with the club through to four seasons.
Munro, who captained the Heat during their BBL premiership run last season, was on hand at Allan Border Field to help launch the Queensland Country Bank partnership along with contracted Queensland Bulls, Fire and Heat players as well as staff from both organisations.
Growing the Queensland Country Bank brand with Heat fans and the wider cricket community is a priority, according to Queensland Cricket CEO Terry Svenson.
“The Brisbane Heat’s purpose is to bring families together through fast, fun and entertaining Big Bash action, on and off field, with more than 150,000 fans coming to watch our two teams play in Queensland last summer, plus many millions more on broadcast,’’ he said.
“The Heat are excited to launch this winning partnership and play our part in fulfilling Queensland Country Bank’s vision to become the State’s best regional bank and help more Queenslanders live better lives through better financial wellbeing.
“We’re delighted that Queensland Country Bank have come on board and have put trust in us to grow their brand. The Brisbane Heat values all our partners, past and present, and has a strong track record of exceeding expectations and delivering the goals of our partners.”
“Their investment will play a significant role in helping us grow cricket in the community and support our volunteers across Queensland. This is just the beginning of what will be an incredible three years of growth, experiences and opportunities for both Queensland Country Bank, the Brisbane Heat and Queensland Cricket,” Svenson said.
Queensland Country Bank CEO Aaron Newman said staff and members alike were excited to be stepping onto the pitch with the Heat.
“We have a strong focus on supporting communities and that this aligns perfectly with Queensland Cricket, which is a not-for profit association supporting grassroots cricket across the state. Together, we’re extending beyond the cricket pitch, and we can’t wait to share how our members can become even greater fans of the Heat and be part of their seasons ahead,” said Aaron Newman – CEO Queensland Country Bank.
