We're pleased to announce that media personality Glenn “Minty” Mintern has been announced as one of our new Ambassadors, formalising a relationship which has spanned over 15 years.
“I first joined Queensland Country Bank in the early 2000s when we were struggling to save a deposit for a family home,” recalls Glenn.
“There’s no doubt that using SmartBudget helped us achieve our financial goals, and over the years since, we’ve had our mortgages through Queensland Country Bank and they’ve been fantastic at assisting us as we’ve needed to do repairs or renovations on our home."
As part of his role as Ambassador, Glenn will lend his talent to host staff and Member functions and feature in promotional videos and voiceovers. He says that interviewing Members recently for a Queensland Country Bank 50th Anniversary video series reinforced his decision to accept the role as Ambassador for the organisation.
Meet Our New Ambassador Minty
“Whenever I’m talking to someone about Queensland Country Bank they talk about the family values and that they are treated like a person, not a number,” he says.
“There were stories of Members who have been in diabolical situations but they’ve been helped out because the person working at the bank knows they can do just that little bit more to make it better.
“Hearing their experiences that echo my own reminds you that you’re working with an organisation that really cares.”
With a shared passion for giving back, Glenn has worked closely with Queensland Country Bank at many community events over the years.
“There is a great synergy with this relationship as Queensland Country has strong ties with other organisations I have been part of for so long, such as Ronald McDonald House Charities and the North Queensland Cowboys,” he says.
“I’ve seen firsthand Queensland Country’s exceptional values and amazing community support, not just in the amount of money they inject into not-for-profit clubs and initiatives, but through their staff volunteer program which gives valuable hours of support to the community.
“I’m a strong believer in supporting the communities we live in, so it means so much to work with an organisation where it feels like you’re a part of a big family and whose values truly align with my own.”
