The first NRL game at the new Queensland Country Bank Stadium on Friday night will also mark the world-wide launch of a new piece of promotional material.
Four hundred footy fans sitting in Bay 118 of the Northern Grandstand will receive a free Queensland Country Bank Flip Jersey to wear, with a front panel to unzip and flip the “Try” sign each time the Cowboys score.
The concept originated from our own marketing team and was made possible thanks to the dedication of one of our local suppliers, Get Branded.
“As long-term sponsors of the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys, we wanted to gift fans with something they could wear proudly to each game that lets them get behind their team and celebrate every time they go over the try line,” Mr Newman said.
“With no such product available on the market, Get Branded took our initial sketch and worked tirelessly with suppliers to develop the Flip Jersey.”
It took over 18 months from the initial concept to delivering the completed product, which has received NRL licensing approval and been patented world-wide, but Get Branded Director Madonna Simmons said it was worth the time and effort.
“Working on this project to develop the Flip Jersey means that there have been two local businesses collaborating to have an awesome fan engagement promotional product,” said Ms Simmons.
“Queensland Country Bank have been unbelievable to work with, from the initial brief to the final finished product, and we now have a Flip Jersey that will give the Cowboys fans plenty to flip up and down with.”
Mr Newman said the collaboration is proof that there is plenty of talent in North Queensland, on and off the footy field.
“The artwork was also done by local designer, Verve Design, so we are really proud we were able to collaborate with local businesses to deliver a new promotional product that Cowboys fans can wear with pride.”
