Apple Intelligence

 Apple Intelligence is available on iOS 18.1 or later for iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and all iPhone 16 models, and will automatically be enabled, including with our Banking App.  

What is Apple Intelligence?

Apple Intelligence ensures your privacy by processing data on your iPhone, iPad, and Mac. It uses Private Cloud Compute on Apple silicon to handle complex requests while keeping your personal information secure.

Which Devices support Apple Intelligence?

Apple Intelligence is available in iOS 18.1 or later on all iPhone 16 models, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

Can I turn off Apple Intelligence?

If you have any concerns, you can turn Apple Intelligence off on an application-by-application basis or disable it completely the choice is yours.

Application by Application

To continue using Apple Intelligence while excluding certain apps, you can manage these settings individually: 

  • Go to Settings , tap Apple Intelligence & Siri, scroll down to Apple Intelligence and Siri App Access and select Apps
  • Tap on an app to view its intelligence settings.
  • Turn off the Learn from this App switch to prevent Apple Intelligence from using that app's data.
  • Repeat this process for each app you want to exclude. Now you can enjoy Apple Intelligence on the remainder of your apps.

 

Security Updates to Mobile App effective 7 August 2024

To ensure the security of our Members financial information, we will be releasing an update to our Mobile App which may impact some Members.

Apple iOS devices

Apple Devices running an OS version lower than iOS13 will no longer be supported. These devices will not receive the required app updates and security patches which may leave your device vulnerable.

Apple devices most likely impacted will be: iPhone 5S, iPhone 6 / 6Plus, iPod Touch (6th Generation), Ipad Mini 2, iPad mini 3 and iPad Air.

Jailbroken Device Detection

After this update:

  • Members with a jailbroken device will no longer be able to log into the Mobile App.
  • Members will not be able to Register our Mobile App on a jailbroken device.

A jailbroken phone is a smartphone that’s been modified to get around manufacturer limitations to get unrestricted access to apps and files.

Jailbroken devices pose a security risk to both our organisation and our Members data and passwords.

 

They are also more susceptible to Viruses, Malware, and allow for malicious apps to be installed.

A jailbroken device does not receive OS updates and security patches making it an unsecure device.

Please Note: While the Mobile App may continue to work for a period of time on an unsupported version, Queensland Country strongly recommends that Members update their operating system or device.

How to I fix the ‘Jailbroken Device’ error?

  • Once the device is no longer seen as security compromised or jailbroken the Mobile App will be able to be registered on the device.
  • Factory resetting the device may take it back to its normal settings; this will depend on how the phone was jailbroken to begin with. A factory reset may not always be enough.
  • Use a new or alternate device that has the most recent software update installed and is not jailbroken. Banking app is required.

Banking access via our website will continue to be available. Only our Mobile App completes a check for jailbroken devices and prevents the log in and registration. Queensland Country Bank strongly recommends accessing Internet Banking from a computer or laptop and not the compromised device.

ReCaptcha

ReCAPTCHA is a service from Google that helps protect websites from spam and abuse. A “CAPTCHA” is generally used on websites to tell the difference between humans and a machine.

A version of this has been installed into our environment to ensure the person registering our Mobile App is an actual human. This is a further security feature outside of our current security measures.

 

Our mobile app features

Our mobile app is packed full of features - just like internet banking, you have access to a range of services, including an easy-to-use, more streamlined approach to viewing your balance, making a transfer, managing your cards or paying bills.

  • Check your account balances
  • View past transactions
  • Transfer funds between your accounts, to other verified Queensland Country accounts or to verified accounts at other financial institutions
  • Set up scheduled transfers
  • Pay bills using BPAY®
  • Adjust the order your accounts appear in
  • International transfers
  • Report your card as lost or stolen
  • Reorder a new card immediately
  • Place a temporary block on your card
  • Manage payment methods on your card
  • And much more!

Once you register your device, logging in is as easy as entering a four digit PIN. 

The new app is available for both iOS devices and Android devices and can be downloaded from the Apple App Store or Google Play store.

Your mobile app while travelling overseas

If you're travelling overseas, your mobile app may not work for transfers and transactions, particularly if you don't have access to your Australian mobile number to receive SMS notifications.
