What are Queensland Country Bank Good for Good Community Grants?
Queensland Country Bank Good for Good Community Grants are a monetary grant between $5,000 and $30,000 that are awarded to eligible not-for-profit community organisations.
Projects funded make a practical difference to the lives of people in Queensland communities. We’re looking to support projects that enable people to participate, experience, grow, learn, reach out, connect, make a difference and be safe.
Who can apply for a Queensland Country Bank Good for Good Community Grant?
Applications are open to community groups, clubs and not-for-profit community groups and clubs that meet the following eligibility criteria:
1. Applicants do not need to be Member's of Queensland Country Bank to apply. However, if successful, applicants must be willing to open a Queensland Country Bank account as awarded funding must be payed to the organisation's Queensland Country Bank account.
2. Request a funding amount of no more than $30,000
3. Grant projects must fall into one of the following categories:
- sport and recreation
- health
- education
- environment
- arts, culture and heritage
When do applications close?
The 2024 round of Good for Good Community Grants has now closed with Recipient announcements taking place in November 2024. The opening date for applications for the 2025 round will be announced in June 2025.
How much funding can my group apply for?
Eligible community groups can apply for a funding amount of up to $30,000 including GST.
Can you tell me a little more about the categories of funding I apply under?
There are five categories:
1. Sport and recreation
Projects that improve and promote leisure and physical activity in your community. Examples may include purchase of first aid equipment, upgrade of turf/pitch/court, purchase of training equipment and upgrade of workshop or tools.
2. Health
Improving mental and physical health through equipment, education, practice and access in local your area. Some previous grant recipient examples include purchase and install of portable defibrillators, establish an activity program for individuals and carers affected by strokes, establish a community-based suicide prevention program, purchase of training aides or duress alarms.
3. Education
Furthering, improving or tolls for education for all ages and demographics. Examples may include: purchase of books for a reading program, purchase or upgrade of equipment to be used as teaching aides, purchase of computer equipment for delivery of training courses.
4. Environment
Environmental education and eco-friendly solutions that may include purchase initiatives such as and install of rainwater tank, purchase or upgrade to wildlife saving equipment, create or revitalise school rainforest area.
5. Arts, culture and heritage
Preservation of art and cultural heritage which help tell the story of your community. Examples include purchase of equipment, upgrade/repair of tools, purchase and installation of special lights, artefacts or display cabinet.
Our club isn't a Queensland Country Bank Member. Can we still apply?
Yes – your community group simply needs to become a Member of Queensland Country Bank to enable accepting any awarded funds. Our team are able to assist with the account opening process.
How does my community group become a Member of Queensland Country Bank?
Becoming a Member of Queensland Country Bank involves opening an account with us. Keep in mind that membership will need to be in the name of your community group, so you will have to supply verification documentation for the club and its signatories.
Call into your local branch and chat to the team about your group’s banking needs and they will be able to help you out. Be sure to ask about our Community Partner Program while you’re there, as this is another initiative that can help raise funds for your club.

When will I find out the outcome of my application?
For the 2024 round of grants, applicants will be notified of the outcome of their application by 5pm Friday, 8 November 2024.
What happens once my grant has been approved?
Here’s what to expect if you have been approved for a Queensland Country Bank Good for Good Community Grant.
- Receive an email confirming that your application has been approved. Complete and return the Grant Acceptance Form. The email will detail what the next steps will be and your points of contact.
- Provide us with an invoice – To receive your funds you will need to supply us with an invoice for payment of the grant amount. Be sure to include your organisation's Queensland Country Bank account you for the funds to be transferred to
- Funds will be deposited directly into your nominated Queensland Country Bank account
- Get started on your project – Take lots of photos and share your progress with us
- Acquit Grant with Final Accountability Statement
What is a Final Accountability Statement?
The Final Accountability Statement is the final part of the grant process. It is a simple process where you let us know the outcome of your project, provide supporting information and documentation like receipts, photos or news articles. This is an important final step in the process and if not completed, your club will be ineligible for future grants from Queensland Country Bank.
