Important updates for foreign cheque deposits
Due to changing customer demand, the migration to digital payment methods, and fewer in-person foreign cheque requests, Queensland Country Bank is making changes to the services we provide as follows:
New accounts - from 2 June 2023
- Foreign cheque deposits will not be accepted for any Memberships opened after Friday, 2 June 2023.
Existing accounts – from 14 June 2023
- Foreign cheque deposits with a conversion rate above AUD $10,000 will not be accepted.
- If the cheque can be accepted and processed, a 90-day hold is applicable before the funds will be available.
If you have a one-off or ongoing need for receiving funds from overseas, you can receive payments through an electronic international money transfer (inward telegraphic transfer) directly into your account.
Depositing a foreign cheque
Simply take the cheque to your local Queensland Country branch and we will look after the rest.
